Nikolina Postic is a Masters student in the Graduate Program in Sociology at York University. Her SSHRC-funded thesis uses a feminist political economy framework to explore how the increasing presence of volunteerism is connected to the reshaping of conditions of paid work, and the implications this holds for both those looking to enter and those already in the paid workforce. She is also a Research Assistant on a SSHRC-funded project entitled, ‘Worked to Death,’ which examines patterns of economic security among aging immigrant families.
